Miss Europe Continental began its journey in the city of Bari, the first location chosen by the young entrepreneur Alberto Cerqua was the Sheraton hotel in Bari. 50 finalists from different European countries participated in the competition to compete for the title of Miss Europe Continental. The first Miss elected was the Sicilian Serena Petralia.
